Belfast Cathedral, known locally as St Anne’s, is a Cathedral of the Church of Ireland, part of the Anglican Communion (Episcopalian).

This Parish Church was consecrated in 1776 and called St Anne’s. The project to build the current Cathedral was commenced in 1895 with the Foundation stone laid on September 1899. For nearly 80 years the cruciform Church was a work in progress with sections completed bit by bit.
The Stainless steel Spire of Hope was the last addition to teh present Cathedral lowered into place in 2007.
