“To his Majesty King George V
May please it your Majesty
We the members of the Council of the Castlereagh Rural Sanitary District representing a large Agricultural and Residential area, desire to extend to your Majesty the most cordial and hearty welcome to Northern Ireland.
We would respectfully assure you of our constant attachment to your Majesty‘s throne and person, and we earnestly trust that your reign may be a happy and glorious one with all of the disturbing questions which at present distract the minds of the people, satisfactorily settled: and with peace and prosperity durably established.
Under the happy auspices of your Majesty‘s presence we hope that the Northern Parliament which you are here to inaugurate may have a brilliant and useful history, and that through it our province may continue to be prosperous and contented.
We pray that our gracious Queen Mary; the Prince of Wales, and the Members of the Royal Family, may enjoy long life and happiness.
Signed on behalf of Castlereagh Rural District Council
Chairman of the Council
Clark of the Council
Belfast 21 June 1921”
