John Dunne (24 June 1893 - 28 February 1977) Volunteer, C Company, 3rd Battalion, Dublin Brigade, Irish Volunteers, served in the area of Boland's Mills, Grand Canal Street, under Captain Simon Donnelly. Imprisoned in England and Wales until June 1916.
He participated in the War of Independence and was imprisoned in Mountjoy, Arbour Hill and Crumlin Road Belfast, held hostage at Portobello Barracks in 1920 and chained to Black & Tans vehicle driving around Dublin in 1920, and was interned in 1921 at Ballykinlar Camp.
