With James Craig’s party having won the election the Lord Lieutenant asks James Craig to form the first Government of Northern Ireland.
He appoints James Craig as the first Prime Minister of Northern Ireland.
The Lord Lieutenant also establishes the seven new local Government Departments, and appoints Members as Heads of each Department.
This mounted photograph displays the assembled Members of the House of Commons at their first meeting together at City Hall on 7th June 1921 ahead of the opening of Parliament later that month.
The three rows of Members of the Commons are identified by a typed card below the framed picture which identifies each of those present.
